Isola Rossa
Isola Rossa (Red Island) is located on the northwest coast of Sardinia in the province of Olbia-Tempio. The territory includes a strip of red porphyry - hence the name - that looms over the Sea of Sardinia and the little island to the front. The granite rocks are bathed by a crystalline sea, forming bays that hold glistening sand beaches. The colorful seabed is a wonder to not miss: the Red Island diving center offers excursions and diving lessons to allow even the less experienced, to enter into this lush underwater world. Every year in August, on the beach of Marinedda is gather surfers from around the world for the Frozen Open, spectacular surfing contest.
